Electrode Copper Contact Shoe
The water-cooled copper contact shoe is engineered for high-current power transmission on electric arc furnaces under rigorous metallurgical operating conditions. It is produced from high-conductivity forged chromium zirconium copper or high-purity oxygen-free copper, selected according to on-site working requirements.
Chromium zirconium copper features high mechanical strength, outstanding thermal stability and good wear resistance, ideal for high-current and heavy-duty furnace service. Oxygen-free copper delivers superior electrical and thermal conductivity, enabling efficient current transfer and reliable heat dissipation under harsh operating conditions.

The optimized geometry of contact surfaces ensures stable, uniform contact with graphite electrodes, effectively reducing arcing and localized overheating. The integrated internal cooling structure with gun-drilled passages provides efficient heat removal, stabilizes operating temperature and greatly prolongs service life.
Insulated sections are coated with advanced ceramic material to guarantee reliable electrical insulation, as well as improved resistance to thermal shock and mechanical load. The robust structural design ensures stable and safe operation under high-current and high-temperature environments.
This contact shoe is widely applied in LF, EAF and SAF. It features low maintenance, high operational reliability and long service life for modern steelmaking and ferroalloy production lines.

Manufacturing & Quality Control
Precision Welding Process
Water cooling passages and joint sections are fabricated with controlled TIG welding and precision brazing, guaranteeing excellent sealing integrity and structural stability under high-current service conditions.
Non-Destructive Testing
Critical welds and brazed joints are inspected via ultrasonic testing (UT) and liquid penetrant testing (PT) to eliminate internal and surface defects and ensure long-term operational reliability.
Pressure & Leakage Testing
Every water-cooled contact shoe is subjected to hydraulic pressure and tightness testing before delivery, ensuring dependable cooling performance and zero leakage during operation.
Precision Machining
Key contact surfaces are precision-machined to maintain stable electrical contact, optimize current conduction and achieve uniform pressure distribution.
Material & Process Control
Rigorous material verification and full-process manufacturing control deliver consistent quality, superior thermal stability and extended service life.
