The furnace adopts a fully enclosed design, ensuring optimized energy efficiency, stable operation, and compliance with modern environmental emission requirements. It is specifically engineered for the efficient and continuous production of silicon manganese alloy under industrial-scale conditions.
The furnace lining is designed with high-performance refractory materials, typically carbon-based or magnesia-based linings, ensuring excellent thermal resistance and long service life under high-temperature operating conditions. The electrodes are self-baking (Söderberg type) and are inserted directly into the burden materials to ensure stable arc formation and efficient energy transfer.
During operation, the charge materials are continuously fed into the furnace, where they are melted through the combined effect of electric arc and electrical resistance heating. The smelting process is continuous, while tapping is carried out in a batch-wise manner, enabling stable production control and operational flexibility.

The complete system integrates the furnace body and refractory structure, off-gas collection and dedusting system, short network power distribution system, electrode regulation system, hydraulic system, tapping and slag handling system, furnace bottom cooling system, high-voltage transformer and power supply unit, low-voltage electrical automation system, and centralized monitoring and control platform.
To ensure high operational reliability, the system is further equipped with an automated burden charging and material distribution system, furnace mouth fume extraction unit, and dry-type off-gas recovery and dust removal system, enabling efficient energy utilization and significantly reduced emissions.
