Electrostatic dust removal is to charge the dust particles by passing the dusty gas through a strong electric field. When it passes through the dust removal electrode, the particles with positive / negative charge are adsorbed by the negative / positive electrode plate respectively, so as to remove the dust in the gas. Electrostatic precipitator has high dust removal efficiency, but its dust removal efficiency is greatly affected by dust specific resistance, which is easy to lead to unstable dust removal efficiency. Since the 1990s, electrostatic precipitators have been widely used in the treatment of smoke and dust pollution with high temperature, large amount of flue gas and complex working conditions, such as thermal power generation and cement kiln. Bag filter uses fiber filter material to collect solid particles in dusty gas, form filter dust cake, and further filter fine dust particles through filter dust cake, so as to achieve the purpose of high-efficiency dust removal. Bag dust removal technology can stably achieve high dust removal efficiency, and the dust emission can be less than 5mg / m3, and the dust removal efficiency is not affected by dust characteristics such as dust specific resistance. Generally speaking, the dust with particle size less than 10 microns (i.e. inhalable particles) has a great impact on human health, and the bag filter has a high separation efficiency for inhalable particles. With the further development of high temperature resistant filter material and pulse ash cleaning technology, bag filter has been more and more widely used in the treatment of high temperature and high concentration flue gas with excellent dust removal performance.

With the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, China's air pollution is becoming more and more serious, and the emission standards of air pollutants are becoming more and more strict. Electrostatic precipitator and bag filter with high dust removal efficiency have been widely used. At present, electrostatic dust removal and bag dust removal are the mainstream dust removal technologies in China.

Compared with electrostatic precipitator, bag filter has greater advantages in energy conservation and emission reduction. Under the situation of increasingly strict national emission standards, the use of bag filter will become the main choice to control dust pollution.
