Carbon oxygen lance mainly refers to electric furnace smelting. Generally, it mainly refers to the carbon and oxygen lance at the door of electric furnace, as well as the carbon and oxygen lance on the furnace wall. 

There are two water-cooled nozzles for the carbon oxygen lance at the furnace door, some are two water-cooled oxygen lance, and some are a combined oxygen lance. 

The former two oxygen guns are arranged on the left and right, one is Laval supersonic oxygen gun and the other is carbon gun for straight hole carbon powder injection; The latter is equipped with two spray guns up and down, the supersonic oxygen gun is below, the oxygen gun is also Laval nozzle, and the carbon gun is above.

During smelting, the spray gun in the furnace door is gradually inserted into the furnace with the melting of scrap steel. Compared with the traditional smelting process, the use of carbon oxygen lance in electric furnace has the following advantages:

1. The furnace door carbon oxygen gun injects oxygen into the molten pool at the supersonic speed of Mach 2, which changes the chemical balance in the molten pool and greatly increases the amount of CO in the molten pool.

2. During the whole process of foaming slag smelting, due to carbon injection, the whole process of foaming slag smelting can be improved, splashing, electricity utilization, noise reduction and quality improvement can be reduced.

3. With the increase of flue gas temperature, sufficient oxygen reacts with carbon. Compared with the traditional system, free oxygen is used for CO combustion during decarburization, and the oxidizing atmosphere in the furnace is weak, which reduces the consumption of electrode and refractory.
