The transformer determines the fault by the abnormal sound

Transformer is buzzing.  If the sound of the transformer is more than normal and noisy, but the current and voltage are no different, it may be caused by the loosening of the clamp or the screw pressing the core, which makes the silicon steel sheet vibrate.  

The Transformer has a discharge sound.  If partial discharge occurs on the transformer or surface, the sound will be mixed with "crackling" discharge sound.  When this happens, if at night or rainy weather, you can see a blue corona or spark near the transformer bushing, it indicates that the porcelain is dirty or equipment wire clamp contact;  If the discharge of the transformer is electrostatic discharge of ungrounded components, or contact discharge of tap switches, the transformer should be further detected or discontinued.  

The Transformer has the sound of water boiling.  If the sound of the transformer is mixed with the sound of water boiling and temperature change, oil level rise, it should be judged as transformer winding short circuit fault, or tap switch due to contact caused by serious overheating, then the transformer should be stopped for inspection.  

The Transformer has a cracking sound.  If the transformer sound is mixed with uneven cracking sound, it is transformer or surface insulation breakdown, at this time the transformer should be stopped for inspection.  

The above sound problem is a detail that can not be ignored, we should grasp it well, otherwise it is not good to use, not only the use of Transformer is not good, but also may shorten the service life!
