Characteristics of EAF steelmaking 

    With the continuous progress of electric furnace steelmaking process technology, profound changes have taken place in electric furnace steelmaking. Some process and technical problems restricting electric furnace steelmaking have been resolved, and the advantages of electric furnace steelmaking have become more and more obvious, such as the governance cycle. Long, the refining time of each furnace steel is about 240min, low productivity; large power consumption, reaching 630kWh / t; high electrode consumption, reaching 6.5kg / t; no refining equipment, product quality and variety is restricted; low-efficiency infrastructure investment is less expensive.

    Advantages of the improved electric furnace steelmaking process (compared to converter steelmaking process)

(1) The smelting cycle is shortened, and the processing time for each furnace steel processing time is 30-60mins, and the productivity is greatly improved;

2) The power consumption has dropped significantly, 300 ~ 450kWh / t;

(3) The electrode consumption has also dropped significantly, 1.0-1.1kg;

4) There are high-level refining equipment, and the product quality has been greatly improved, especially for many high-grade gold steels;

5) High efficiency.
