The charge enters the semi enclosed submerged arc furnace, and the 35kV Power supply is introduced into the furnace through the three-phase electrode through the transformer. The electrode generates arc heating with the charge and transmits it to the furnace full of charge. Through arc heat and resistance heat, silica can be reduced to silicon manganese alloy. In the whole smelting process, the strength of voltage and current on the electrode are set according to the smelting process parameters, In different periods, the values of voltage and current are also different, that is, the power input into the furnace is different. The electrode is always stably inserted into the charge in the furnace, and the gas escapes evenly from the whole charge surface. 

The electric arc is not exposed from beginning to end. The evenly mixed furnace charge is added into the furnace in small batches with the decline of the charge level, so that the charge level in the furnace is maintained at a certain height, and the shape of flat cone is presented around the electrode. When the silicon manganese molten iron generated by reduction in the furnace is stored to a certain extent, open the furnace hole with a burnthrough or round steel, discharge the molten iron and slag, remove the slag in the alloy, and then cast into ingots in the ingot mold. The electric furnace is powered under the specified power supply system. The average electric furnace shall be cast once every 2 hours, and four furnaces shall be cast every 8 hours. Water quenched slag is selected. After tapping, the winch will pull the molten iron ladle to the casting room and calm it for about 20 minutes. The crown block will lift the molten iron ladle and cast the molten iron into the ground spindle mold. After the alloy is cooled slightly, pry it up, lift it to the iron container with a crown block, and store it after cooling.

Application of silicomanganese alloy

Silicon manganese alloy is an alloy composed of silicon, manganese, iron, a small amount of carbon and other elements. It is a kind of ferroalloy with wide application and large output. Its consumption accounts for the second place of electric furnace ferroalloy products. Manganese and silicon in manganese silicon alloy have strong affinity with oxygen. When manganese silicon alloy is used in steelmaking, the melting points of deoxidation products mnsio3 and mnsio4 are 1270 ℃ and 1327 ℃ respectively. It has the advantages of low melting point, large particles, easy floating and good deoxidation effect.
